Sharon Roberts

Sharon Purdy Roberts, age 74, of Benton, Arkansas died peacefully surrounded by her family June 19, 2018. She was born July 6, 1943 in DeWitt, Arkansas to the late Ben L and Lucille Purdy. She graduated from DeWitt High School in 1961. She is preceded in death by her husband of thirty-two years Robert F. "Bob" Roberts and her siblings: Denzil Purdy, Harold "Bud" Purdy and his wife Rita, and Sandra Gaisbauer and her husband Gene.
Sharon was a faithful member of Spring Creek Baptist Church. She retired as the Deputy Collector of the Pulaski County Tax Collector's office where she worked for more than thirty years. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling. She was always up for an adventure: fishing and teaching the grandkids to bait their own hooks, four-wheeler riding, a motorcycle ride with her sister, traveling to see her brother, sister, nieces and nephews, lake house get-aways with Bob and the grandkids, or a road trip with Mrs. Judie McClennahan. Sharon was always taking care of or cooking for someone. When her grandchildren were younger, they liked to say she was a "good cooker girl"-especially Thanksgiving dinner which was her favorite holiday. She enjoyed family cookouts and loved to have her home full of family and friends. Every holiday and birthday was a reason to celebrate. Everyone that knew her loved her, she had a sweet and kind spirit and made friends wherever she went.
Sharon is survived by her two children: Patti Bryant and husband Mark and Mike Edmison and wife DeDee all of Benton; three step-children: Jenny Badley and husband Michael, Paul Roberts and wife Lacey, Niki Kilburn and husband Harvey-all of East End; grandchildren: Sarah Bryant and boyfriend Jake Ryan, Megan Gomez and husband Aurelio, Justin Edmison and girlfriend Kayley Smith, Jason Edmison and wife Katie, Jessa Bryant and boyfriend Lucas Leamon, Sydney Edmison, Jake Wilkerson, Heath Wilkerson, Michael Ray Badley, Brad Roberts and wife Kaylee, Blake Roberts, Hannah Kilburn, Abby Kilburn, and Callie Kilburn; great-grandchildren: Emily Gomez, Reese Roberts, Bradyn Wilkerson, and Brycen Wilkerson; siblings: Keith Purdy and wife Ruthie of Montgomery, Texas, Carolyn Tibbett and husband Bill of Brownsburg, Indiana, Connie Sullivan and husband Steve of Mabelvale, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Neil Purdy of Columbia, Louisiana; and a host of family and friends who love Sharon and will miss her always.
