Sharon Jane Reed

Sharon Jane Reed joined her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 31, 2023. She was born the daughter of Richard and Daisy Cook on February 6, 1960 in San Antonio, Texas.

Sharon was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She spent most of her life living in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Early in her career she worked with children before working in a nursery taking care of plants. She was a nurturer to her core. Anyone who knew her knew the passion she had for horticulture, and the deep knowledge she had of all things green and growing as an Arkansas Certified Nurseryman. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Sharon was an avid gardener and steward of the natural world. Her own garden was a testament to her passion for growing and nurturing plants of all kinds, and she generously shared her knowledge and blooms with friends and family.

Sharon met the love of her life, Donnie Lee Reed, in the 1970's in Little Rock. Donnie and Sharon were devoted to each other, and together they shared years of a wonderful and cherished marriage. Their love was a testament to the power of commitment, unwavering support, and partnership. Through the ups and downs of life, they stood by each other, creating a legacy of love and devotion that will be remembered by all who knew them. Sharon's two children, Kenny and Rachelle, meant the world to her. She later filled her favorite role as a grandparent. She treasured her time with her grandchildren Amber, Madelyn, and Preston and loved being their grandma.

Her grandchildren recall fond memories on the "rocket slide" and spending summers at the cabin on Greers Ferry Lake. She also cherished her dog, Luca, and loved him as if he were her own child. Sharon was devoted to Christ, and spent a lot of her time reading scripture. In John 11:25 the Bible says, "Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die."

Sharon is preceded in death by her mother and father, Daisy Cook and Richard Cook; her brother, Richard; her sister, Donna Cook; and her brother-in-law, William Biggs Sr. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Donnie Reed; her sisters, Debby (David) Williams and Winnie Biggs; her children, Kenny Raines and Rachelle (Nathan) Bye; and her grandchildren Amber (Joel) Christensen, Madelyn (Charles) Prom, and Preston Raines. Sharon will always be remembered for her love and dedication to her family. We know that she is walking alongside her Lord in Heaven, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all of those who loved her.
