Sharon Fonville

Sharon Lynn Fonville passed away peacefully at home in North Little Rock at the age of 59. Born in Saginaw, Michigan, she was predeceased by parents, Carl & Clarice "Neenaw" Fonville. Sharon is survived by her beloved daughter, Ashley Lea Fonville of Denver, Colorado.
Sharon was a talented artist, radiant in her youth and generous of spirit. A popular cheerleader who excelled academically at North Little Rock High School (formerly Northeast). She studied architecture & pledged Pi Beta Phi at U of A Fayetteville. Her undeniable eye for design led to a lifelong pursuit of interior design & corporate branding. Her clients included attorneys, surgeons, business owners & professional athletes. Sharon's talent for drawing was matched by her sewing skills -- with or without patterns. Fashion-conscious but frugal, she once delighted a good friend by sewing her a bride's maid's dress. Later in life she embraced her competitive side and excelled as a sales rep for a medical company. Calling on pediatricians statewide, Arkansas Children's Hospital was her favorite customer.
Sharon was friendly & welcoming and opened her home to souls less fortunate than she. She loved telling friends of the time she met Chicago's lead singer in San Francisco. She adored her only child, Ashley, who was the centerpiece of her extended family led by her beloved father -- the central male figure in her life. Sharon took an active role in her daughter's school life. In '98, as PTA president at Lynch Drive elementary, she painted the school's mascot. The following year she led the design of Poplar Street middle school's acclaimed Mardi Gras festival.
Sharon's indomitable spirit will be missed by family and friends. Her life celebration will be held on her birthday, June 16, 2021 in Little Rock, AR.
