Sharon Braga

Sharon Yvonne (Stensland) Braga was born June 19th,1942 in Park River, North Dakota. On November 2nd, 2020, she went home to be with the LORD peacefully in Cabot, AR at age 78 after a brief battle with colon cancer.

Sharon was the mother of 5 children, however many people considered Sharon their adopted mother or grandmother. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Helmer and Isabella Stensland. Her siblings, Ronald Stensland, Lavern(Lois) Stensland, Kathleen Allen (Al-living), and Ruby (Bruce) Dawson. She was survived by her youngest sister Otella (Oatsie) Redl (Tom), and her children Suzanne Evans (Jim), John Braga (Sherry), Lisa Braga, Sarah Miller (Billy), and Mary Matthews (Mark), her 12 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Her greatest achievement was mothering her 5 children whom she adored. Her greatest passion was taking care of children whom she spoiled and recognized as her adopted grandchildren.

She was an avid football fan cheering for the Denver Broncos, Oklahoma Sooners, and Arkansas Razorbacks. One of the last things she did was give to New Life Church, which showed the giving nature she entailed. She always trusted God and every time she turned around, blessings were provided. One message that stuck with her was “God Can” which she posted on Facebook daily, and many remembered her tenderly for. She loved her trips to Kroger and traveling and adventuring with her sisters. Her home was an open door to anyone in which she filled the walls with family photos. She had hundreds of thousands of photos of family, friends, and anything you could think of. A few of her sayings were, “Don’t forget your purse! Call me when you get there. What is your flight number? And send me pictures!” She will certainly be missed and remembered greatly by all who walked her path.

Memorial service will be held at New Life Church at 6pm on Saturday, November 7th, 2020; 107 Commercial St. Cabot AR, 72023.
