Shannon Louise Taylor

Shannon Louise Taylor, age 59, of Glenwood, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022.

She was born on January 28, 1963, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, the daughter of Elbert Taylor and Leota Reid Taylor Ruark.  She was preceded in death by her father; her mother; her stepfather, Autho Ruark; and her brother, Leon Taylor, Sr.

Shannon began her career working as a registered nurse.  In the fall of 2004, Shannon made the life choice to go to Physician Assistant-(PA) school, and chose to go to school in North Dakota, of all places.  Little did Shannon know, by making the decision to relocate to North Dakota, she would meet her future life partner, Patrick Litster, and the two of them have been inseparable ever since.  In 2007, Shannon began working for CHI St. Vincents, as a Physician Assistant, where she worked in the clinics in Murfreesboro, Glenwood and later in Mount Ida, as well as working for the Convenient Care Clinic in Hot Springs.  Shannon always felt that her line of work offered her the opportunity to witness the Word, and loved to invite everyone to the church she attended, Lake Pointe Church.

Shannon enjoyed spending time outdoors even though her husband could never talk her into going camping.  She loved all animals and was known to take in stray pets, even at one point bringing in a pig and a skunk to live in their house.  Shannon was deeply loved by her family, friends and patients, and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Patrick Litster of Glenwood; her three stepdaughters, Megan Litster and Morganne Litster, both of Tooele, Utah, and Mallory Litster of Salt Lake City, Utah; her two grandchildren, Dante Silcox and Nero Silcox; her cherished sister and brother-in-law, Violet and William Barrett of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; her nieces and their spouses, Amber and Jace Coffman, Sarah and Buddy McGowan, Jennifer Taylor and J.T., Kristal Rogers and Skylar and Kelli Jo Taylor; her nephew, Leon Taylor, Jr.; her great-nieces and nephews, Jocelyn Coffman, Kambrey Coffman, Adalee McGowan, Trace McGowan, Creidon Coffman, Jacelyn Scott and Olivia Rogers; her fur babies, Beta, Icon, Pailen, Lily, Easton, Chica Pet, Petey Cat Alley Cat, Squeakers and many more animal babies; and numerous extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
