Shannon Melissa Stormes

Shannon Melissa Stormes of North Little Rock, age 71, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 28, 2022. Born September 28, 1950 to Mary Ellen Garrett and Truman Irvin Stormes, she was a faithful member of St. Patrick’s Church and attended St. Patrick’s Elementary School. In 1968, she graduated from Mount Saint Mary Academy and began her floral design career. As owner of Heights Florist in Little Rock, she devoted her life to caring for others through curating beautiful spaces to gather. She was a beloved mother and grandmother who generously served her community and brightened countless celebrations. In 1988, she began a 29 year career with AR Game and Fish Commission in the License Division retiring in 2017. She is preceded in death by both her parents; her sisters Mary Ellen Walls Pack and Gaye Garrett Greene; Shannon is survived by two children, Melissa (Clay) Garvin of Cabot and Robert E Watts Jr (Michelle) of North Little Rock; four grandchildren Shannon Larrissa (Cole) Lockwood of Oklahoma City OK, Faith Marie (Clayton) Ennis of Beebe, Joseph Gunter Garvin of Cabot, and Caden Octavia Watts of North Little Rock; and a brother F. Michael Stormes of Fayetteville. She will be loved and missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
