On Sunday, April 19, 2015, in Sherwood AR, Severino R. Defensor went Home to his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. He was surrounded in prayer by his immediate family.
He was preceded in 2007 by his wife of 49 years, Nellie Cudal Defensor, and is lovingly remembered by their twin daughters, Marla Wright and Melissa Long and their respective husbands, Brian Wright and Major Gene A. Long, USAF Retired; granddaughter, Gabriele Wright; as well as extended family, friends, and caregivers.
His first and foremost desire was the spiritual salvation of his family, friends, and those whom he knew. In his last days, he would call them to mind and pray for them by name. He wanted each to believe the gospel of grace, "that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures," He wanted each to realize that "...to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness."
A private service for the immediate family was held at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home on Thursday, May 30, 2015. Extended family and friends are welcome to attend a special memorial service on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 10:00 AM, at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 N. Main Street, North Little Rock AR 72114. For more information, please call 501-758-1170.
