Sarah York

Sarah Hardage York age 95 died Sunday, October 22, 2006 in Hot Springs. She was born March 17, 1911 in Arkadelphia the daughter of Joe and Blanche Williamson Hardage. She was a homemaker, and had served as the pianist at First Baptist Church, Hope, and Second Baptist Church, Hot Springs. Mrs. York taught adult Sunday School class at First Baptist Church in Arkadelphia. She was a member of Chapter BB of P.E.O. and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Basil York, three brothers, Dr. Paul M. Hardage, Dr. Albert L. Hardage and Harry A. Hardage, and two nephews, Joe H. Hardage and Harry A. Hardage Jr.


Survivors include two nephews, Paul M. Hardage Jr of Bryan, TX and A. Carter Hardage of Little Rock; one niece, Ann Hardage Shelton of Hot Springs.


Graveside services will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, Oct 24, 2006 in Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Lyndell Worthen officiating. Interment under the direction of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Ouachita Baptist University.
