Sarah A. Throckmorton, 87, of Maumelle, passed away March 27, 2015. Born June 27, 1927 in Bald Knob to John Cleburne and Tina Ethel Hall Hinkle. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gerald Alred Throckmorton and her son, Gerald Alan Throckmorton. She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Throckmorton and Glenda Petri (Edward), both of Maumelle; daughter-in-law, Alice Throckmorton of Kingwood, Texas; two grandchildren, Sarah E.Throckmorton of Little Rock and Joseph A. Throckmorton of Kingwood; brother, Gerald Hinkle of Auburn, Washington; step-grandchildren, Ron Petri (Christine) and Rick Petri, both of Ft. Worth, Texas and Renee McGee (James) of Clearlake, Texas; step-great-grandchildren, Alexis Petri, Carli Petri, Ashley Turner, Matt McGee, Nick McGee and Tim McGee; and numerous relatives and friends.
In addition to being a homemaker extraordinaire, she sang with the Sweet Adelines, volunteered as both a Girl and Boy Scout leader, and managed a jewelry store. Sarah was an avid reader and gardener, well-traveled, and was a great story teller. She was generous, loving, artistic, creative, elegant and loved her family more than anything. Her wonderful sense of humor is evidenced by her desired obituary, "She laughed, she cried, she lived, she died."
