Sarah Pitts Parchman, age 79, passed away at home on Sunday, February 20, 2022, after her long battle with liver disease. She was a native of Ellisville, MS and resident of New Orleans, LA since 1955. Sarah retired from the Jefferson Parish School system as a Teacher's Assistant for over 20 years. She loved her family, especially her grandkids. She loved watching the grandkids play sports and watching football on TV, and was an avid reader. She will be deeply missed.
Wife of the late James Sonny Parchman for 55 years. Mother of Helen Christine Ray (Bernie), Gregory James Parchman, and Shellie Parchman Rovelo (Fabian). Grandmother of Bryce Christian Parchman, Connor James Parchman, Irelynn SarahMaria Rovelo, and Sophia Rovelo Buccola. Daughter of the late Eunice Clark Pitts and the late Dentson Pitts. Sister of Larry Paul Pitts (Wanda), James Lamar Pitts, Sr. (Lucy), Donna Fontenot (Ferrel), the late Sue Pitts Vidrine, the late Margaret Pitts Pecot (the late Butch), the late Debbie Pitts Kinney (the late Roger), and the late Doris Pitts Dillon (the late Larry). She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be Thursday, March 3, 2020, 10:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church, McRae, with burial in Lebanon Cemetery.
