Sarah G. Newman, 92, of Forrest City passed away Friday, March 25, 2011. She was born March 11, 1919 in Artesia, New Mexico to the late William Leo and Eleanora McNulty Gavin. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi in Forrest City. Sarah was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary E. Gray, of Forrest City; sons, Robert Newman, of Elk Grove, California and James Newman, of Portland, Oregon; brother, Francis Gavin, of Portland, Oregon; sisters, Julia Rodabaugh, of Belgrade, Montana, and Theresa Bracy, of Portland, Oregon; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Newman; brothers, Leo and John Gavin and sister, Isabell Gavin.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
