On Monday, March 5th, 2018 Sarah Nelle Colburn went to the place prepared for her. She was born May 25, 1934, the youngest child of Wes and Ruth (Gilbert) Taylor.
Sarah grew up in the suburbs of Clarksville, Arkansas, attending Lamar High School where she received her diploma. She also received her husband of 54 years, Jack Colburn, who preceded her in death.
Sarah was past Matron of Order of the Eastern Star, Levy Chapter, former member of the Mt. Home Freewill Baptist Church and a member of Cedar Heights Baptist Church. She has been attending the Glory Barn Church since her move to Hot Springs.
After graduation she attended Capital City Business College in Little Rock. She worked at various clerical jobs throughout her adult life from Little Rock Chamber of Commerce to Artcrest, Inc., where she worked for 47 years.
Sarah had a passion for reading and writing poetry and was published in the Poets Roundtable Anthology and several times in the Ouachita Life. She also enjoyed Team Mom status to many baseball moms.
Sarah is survived by two sons, Steve Colburn (Mary) of El Paso and James Colburn (Rachael) of Hot Springs and one daughter, Lisa Ring (Ed)of Hot Springs; four grandchildren, Jeremiah Ring (Monica) and Jessica Ring Gunn (Alan), Kasey Colburn, and Mitchell Colburn; five great-grandchildren, Braxton, Caden, and Kenzie Ring, and Matthew and Josie Nelle Gunn; her daughter-in-law Lisa Colburn and her sister-in-law Dorothy Taylor, and a very special nephew Wesley North, who was raised in her family home as a brother. Also, by many other special nephews and nieces and a host of friends.
In addition to her husband Jack, she was preceded in death by her parents, Wes and Ruth Taylor, brothers Gilbert , Miles, George, Cecil, Ruel; two sisters Ruth Mae and Mary Sue, and niece Linda North.
