Sarah Arlene Foshee

Sarah Arlene Foshee, age 88, of Mount Ida, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020.

She was born on December 16, 1932, in the Bear community of Montgomery County, the daughter of Lee Monroe Meeks and Fannie Ellen Greene Meeks. In 1959, she married Edgar “Bud” Foshee. She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Jerry Lee Foshee; her parents; four brothers, Erbie Meeks, Lonnie Meeks, Jack Meeks and Harley Meeks; and her sister, Ruby King.

Arlene was a Baptist in her faith. She was employed as a pharmacy assistant in California for over thirty years before moving back to Black Springs in 1995. After moving to Arkansas, she began cooking at the Mount Ida Senior Adult Center. She enjoyed dancing, golf, collecting clown figurines and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Yvette Meeks of Corralitos, California; and several nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of the Montgomery County Assisted Living.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mount Ida Senior Center, 158 Senior Drive, Mount Ida, Arkansas 71957.

A memorial service will be announced at a later time under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
