Sarah Wieman of Arkadelphia, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday July 12, 2022 at 96 years of age. She was born February 1, 1926 in Arkadelphia and was a life-long resident. Her parents were Thomas A. Hearn and Juanita Jackson Hearn.
She graduated from Arkadelphia High School in 1945 and from Henderson State Teachers College in 1949.
She was married to Clarence G. Wieman Jr of Arkadelphia for 56 years until his death in 2006.
Her children are Mark Wieman and wife Karen of Arkadelphia and Lisa Wieman Bettis of Bentonville, Arkansas. She is also survived by her grandchildren Thomas Bettis and wife Nellie of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; Patrick Bettis of Bella Vista, Arkansas; step grandchildren Tara Rix and Jamie Rix McCaul both of Austin, Texas; Brad Bettis of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and a predeceased step grandson Nathan Rix. Her great grandchildren are Mahayla, Emma, and Toby Bettis of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; Annabell Bettis of Lincoln, Arkansas; and step great grandchild Ava McCaul of Austin, Texas.
She was a life-long member of First Methodist Church in Arkadelphia where she was remembered for her volunteer work. Her other work included being a nurse in a local doctor’s office after college and later as accountant for her church. Volunteer work also included being a board member for the Arkadelphia Food Bank.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 22nd, at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Highway 8 West, in Arkadelphia under Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 107 N. 9th St., Arkadelphia, AR 71923 or the Humane Society of Clark County, 627 Walnut St., Arkadelphia, AR 71923.
