Sanford C. McDonald, 87, of Little Rock died Monday, November 19, 2007. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corp. and served in the Army in WWII on Okinawa. Before going to the war he helped build Norfork Dam. In 1951 he moved to Little Rock and worked for Dougin Asphalt Co. and helped build Little Rock. He loved to hunt, fish and fly RC Planes with his son and was a member of the Mid-Arkansas Radio Control Society. He was also a member of Life Unlimited Fellowship Church. He loved and adored his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Mary Beth McDonald of Little Rock; three grandsons, Mike McDonald and his wife, Jennifer, of Jackson, Tennessee, James McDonald and wife, Renee, of Wichita Falls, Texas, John David McDonald of Little Rock; one granddaughter, Rebekah Pope and her husband, David, of Ft. Belvoir, Virginia; five great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, David Wayne, Dennis, Kalyn and Ashton; one brother, Odis McDonald of Little Rock; and a sister, Hattie Jane Moser of Mountain View.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Vivian (Martin) McDonald whom he cherished; one son, Ron McDonald and a brother, Dee McDonald.
Funeral services will be held l:00 PM Wednesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery, Pottsville, Arkansas. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
