Sandra Sue Walters, 75, of Little Rock, born September 14, 1940, daughter of Horace and Beulah Irene Tomlinson, has left this life to be with her Lord and Savior on September 22, 2015. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Jeanine Haggard of Reno, Nevada and Janet Alleman of Midwest City, Oklahoma. She is survived by her sister, Marcelyn Ireland of Kansas City, Missouri.
Sandra graduated from the Salvation Army Training School in San Francisco, California and served as a corps officer until her marriage to Joseph E. Walters of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in June 1961. They were married for 23 years. They have three children, Mark Walters, Kristen Walters, daughter-in-law, Valerie Bryles and Kimberly Walters; three grandchildren, Bailey, Taylor Clower and Joshua Walters; and one great-grandchild, Serenity Walters.
Sandra served well the children and veterans of the State of Arkansas. She worked for the Department of Human Services for 20 years and the Department of Veterans Affairs for 10 years as a Licensed Social Worker.
Memorials may be made to Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church, 1601 S. Louisiana Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72206.
A memorial service with Reception following will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church, 1601 S. Louisiana Street, Little Rock. Sandra's cremains will be interred in Joplin, Missouri along side family members.
