Sandra Baskin

Sandra Kay (Sandy) Baskin passed from this life to the next at approximately 8:10 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2015. She was preceded in death by her mother, Reba Thomas Baskin. She is survived by her daughter, Digby Jukes; father, Carl E. (Ed) Baskin; sisters, Karen Hilburn, Rozanne Lin (Eugene), Deborah Baskin and Carla Hudson (David). She leaves behind aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to name.

Sandy was smart, funny with a quick wit, and sassy. She helped found Red Octopus Production in 1991 and has been its director from then to early 2015 when she became too ill to continue. For all that time, Sandy was a writer and actor of Red Octopus sketch comedy.

More recently, Sandy and other Red Octopus writers entered a statewide competition and won. Then they won the regional competition. Their work was considered by Arts and Entertainment television and they came in second to Duck Dynasty.

More about her relationship with her nieces and nephews: Sandy loved, cared for and would do anything for them, even if it meant "going to the moon and back" for her babies, as she called them. She was the matriarch to all who knew her. She always, even to her last days, put the welfare of others before herself.

The family thanks the staffs at CARTI, Drs. Baltz and Gentry's office, the Baptist Hospital 10th Floor, visiting nurses and Hospice Home Care.

Services will be held on Wednesday, November 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Pulaski Heights Presbyterian Church, 4301 Woodlawn in Little Rock. Services will be conducted by Reverend Ruskin Falls.

Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, (501)224-2200. Sandy's online guestbook may be signed at www.littlerockfuneralhome.com.
