Samuel R. Welch, 75, of Sherwood born July 10, 1941 and passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017.
Sam is survived by his wife of 30 years, Edna Davenport Welch; daughter, Karen Jones (John), son, Bill Welch; grandson, Gregory Jones and granddaughter, Ashley Jones. Sam was preceded in death by his parents, William Owen Welch and Ruth Pearl Welch; three brothers, William, Neal and Glen Welch, all of Arkadelphia.
After Sam finished high school in Arkadelphia, he joined the Air Force in 1960 and retired after 22 ½ years as a MSgt. He then spent 20 years working at the Commissary as a Computer Specialist at the Little Rock Air Force Base.
Memorials may be made to Seven Springs Health and Rehabilitation, 1040 Wedding Ford Rd., Heber Springs, Arkansas 72543.
A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 4th at Rest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 3rd at Smith - North Little Rock Funeral Home.
