On August 10, 1947 a beautiful baby boy named Samuel R. Johnson II,was born in Kansas City, Kansas to Mary E. Booker Johnson and Samuel Johnson Sr., two very old school disciplinary parents, who instilled a lot of love and closeness in the family. Samuel went to two different Elementary Schools growing up, Franklin & Lincoln, continuing on working and going to school as an adolescent, becoming very active in track, basketball, and boxing, Samuel went on to buy his first car at 16.
At the age of 17, Samuel joined the United States Marine Corps, going on to spend one year in Vietnam serving his country. He received a Medal of Good Conduct for his accomplishments. In 1978 Samuel's first and only son Samuel III was born, that was the proudest moment of his life. Samuel went on and completed an Associated Degree in Business Administration, and worked over five years helping senior citizens in Culver City, California. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
Samuel went to be with his Lord and king on the evening of Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Sherwood, Arkansas with his sister by his side.
Those who have gone on before Samuel are is father and mother Samuel Sr. and Mary Johnson and his brother Virgil Ray Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memories, a sister Connie Lynch of North Little Rock, Arkansas; a son Samuel III and Rhonda Johnson of River Ridge, Louisiana; a granddaughter Samiah Johnson of River Ridge, Louisiana; and a nephew Richard Campbell of North Little Rock.
The final tribute will be on Tuesday, March 10, 2008 at Noon at the Huson Funeral Home Chapel at 7700 Hwy 107, in Sherwood, AR. You may visit Mr. Johnson, as he slumbers in peaceful repose on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service time at Noon. Burial will follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
