Samuel Lamont Brandon, Sr., age 87 of Hensley, passed away May 8th, 2014. He was born on July 21st, 1926 in Thorton, AR; he was the son to the late Samuel Dewey & Martha Ellen Brandon. He was a member of Westover Hills Presbyterian Church, Kawanis and Arkansas Movers Association. Sam retired from Brandon Moving and Storage Company. He loved fishing, being outdoors and going to Branson. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Thomas, William, Dewey, John Wesley and Wayne Brandon and grandson, Jordan Brandon.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife of 61 years, Betty Irene Rarick Brandon; children, Samuel Brandon, Jr., Caren Lawhon and husband Gerald, Susan Brandon, Michael Brandon and Alan "Marty" Brandon and wife Leslie; grandchildren, Jake, Adrienne, William, Mickey, Christine, Megan, Amy, Justin, Mary, Taylor, Shelby, Rebecca and Ashley; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Brandon and sister, Kaye Holt. He also leaves behind a host of family and friends that will miss him dearly.
Memorial services will be held at 6:30p.m., on Monday, May 12th, 2014 at Huson Funeral Home in Little Rock.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 12th, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until time of service at Huson Funeral Home in Little Rock.
