Sammy David Watters

Sammy David Watters, 72 of Mount Ida, Arkansas, passed away on January 14, 2024, at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was born on August 14, 1951, in Gurdon, Arkansas to the late Sammy Houston and Mayetta Watters.

Sammy was preceded in death by his parents, Sammy and Mayetta; two sisters, Joyce Melugin and Betty Watters.

Survivors include his wife, Doreen Watters, of Mount Ida, Arkansas; children, Misty Wilson (Joel) of Murfreesboro, Arkansas, Crystal Crain of Nashville, Tennessee, and Phillip Crain of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one sister, Patricia Kirksey of Gurdon, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and numerous nephews.

A celebration of Sammy's life will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Smith Family Funeral Home, in Glenwood, Arkansas.

A private interment will be held at Blish Cemetery, in Mt. Ida, Arkansas.
