Sammy Godsey

Sammy Ray Godsey, 56 years young left this earth on February 8, 2022 surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born July 31, 1965 to the late Shelton Ray and Frances Lee in Vernon, Alabama and raised in Booneville, Mississippi.

Sammy was blessed with a large and loving family. He married his best friend Mary Elizabeth on April 16, 2011. They built an extremely happy life in Sherwood, Arkansas.

He absolutely loved camping, calling the Hogs, singing karaoke, smoking meats, playing golf. Most of all he fiercely loved his family and treated everyone like family. He is loved by so many and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving children, Misty Freeman of El Dorado, Arkansas, Brittany Carpenter (Stephen) of Gray, Kentucky, Kimberly Jones (Gabriel) of Corinth, Mississippi, Jeremy Godsey (Madison) of Bryant, Arkansas and Heather Culpepper (Lacy) of Sherwood, Arkansas, and Cassey Huffman of North Little Rock, Arkansas; five granddaughters; nine grandsons; three sisters; four brothers; and a whole host of extended family and his four-legged sidekick, Dexter.

Sammy was a “SLAMMIN” salesman for Camping World. He took a lot of pride in his job. He sold 180 campers last year which earned him his “Century Club” jacket for 2021. They loved him at Camping World and he considered his coworkers his family.
