Sammie Lynn Allen Suitt passed away peacefully at home on April 12, 2025. She was 89 years old.
Sammie was born on November 24, 1935, and raised in Searcy, Arkansas. Her parents were Samuel and Mary Allen. They owned Allen's Quality Bakery in Searcy for many years. Sammie received an elementary education degree from Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. She taught elementary school in Jackson, Michigan; Little Rock, Arkansas; Fayetteville, Arkansas; and Aledo, Texas. She loved teaching children.
Sammie was an artist. She did dry-brush watercolor paintings. She had a private art show at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens Cafe. She liked to travel all over the USA and enjoyed trips to Europe.
Sammie leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Bob, who stood by her side throughout their journey. They shared a bond that was unbreakable, filled with unwavering support and deep affection. Sammie is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Jane Carter and Gloria Suitt; brother-in-law, Bill Suitt; nephews, Donavan Suitt and Jeff Cater; and numerous members of the Allen and Orlicek families.
Sammie will be dearly missed, but her memory will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her passion for education, love for family and devotion to others serve as lasting reminders of a life well lived.
As we say our final goodbyes, let us carry forward Sammie's spirit of kindness, generosity and joy.
