Sammie McNair

Sammie E. McNair, 84, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 12, 2015 at her home in Little Rock. Mrs. McNair is survived by her husband of 65 years, William "Bill" McNair. Mrs. McNair was born on August 20, 1930 in Palestine, Arkansas, the daughter of Clay and Ellie Kyzer. After many years of working at K-Mart, she retired to enjoy serving at her local church.

Throughout the course of her Christian walk, Mrs. McNair served as a faithful follower in several capacities, including Sunday School teacher and VBS teacher, and received the Distinguished Service Award from the Nazarene World Mission Society.

In addition to her husband, Bill, Mrs. McNair is survived by daughter, Rita Wolfe of DeWitt, her daughter, Hillary Wolfe and grandchildren, Melissa, Brooklyn and Collin Wolfe; and daughter, Connie (Jerry) Moser and her children, Christopher (Karen) Lutman and grandchildren, Zach and Abigail Lutman; and Angela (LaReem) Staggers and grandchildren, Madison Lutman-Bell, Tyson and Remi. Mrs. McNair is also survived by two brothers and two sisters: Charles (Frances) Kyzer of Heber Springs, Arlie (Curley) Kyzer of Atlanta, Texas, Robbie Wilhite of Heber Springs and Margaret Ann Jones of Coldwater, Mississippi; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be Friday, January 16 from 5-7 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Services will be Saturday, January 17 at Friendly Chapel Church of the Nazarene at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Paul Holderfield, Jr. and Rev. Arlie Kyzer, followed by interment at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander.

If desired, in lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Friendly Chapel Kids Force, 116 S. Pine, No. Little Rock, AR 72114.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Shane Kimball and Fresenius Dialysis, Dr. Dean Kumpuris and Dr. Eleanor Kennedy, and to Baptist Hospice nurses, Betty and Cindy for their loving care throughout Mrs. McNair's life. Special thanks and blessings to Arkansas Errand Services, Delois Jordan.
