Sally Jean Pierce Kenworthy, 75, of Little Rock, passed away February 22, 2012. She was born in Gideon, Missouri on September 8, 1936. Preceding her in death were her parents, Norman and Christine Pierce, son, Steven Ray Kenworthy and two brothers, John and Ray Pierce. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
When their special needs son was born in March, 1972, she devoted the next 37 years of her life ensuring that he had the best life possible. She was greatly admired by all those who knew her for the love and care she gave Steven, as well as her continued devotion to her daughters and husband.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Gerald Kenworthy; daughters, Cynthia Lee and Christine Kanakis; four grandchildren, Jacob Lee, Jessica Saul and husband, Jared, Brittany and Morgan Kanakis; one great-grandson, Jack Saul; sister, Pam Ashbaugh and husband, Mike; and brother-in-law, Robert Kenworthy and his wife, Virginia.
The family is grateful for the care Sally received from Dr. Morgan Sauer, Dr. Jay Holland, the staff at St. Vincent's CCU, MICU and the 5th Floor East Wing, the staff of Hospice Home Care and all of her friends and neighbors whom she dearly loved.
Services will be held on Saturday, February 25 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Betsy Snyder. Interment will be at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1101 N. Mississippi, Little Rock, AR 72207 or to Hospice Home Care, 2200 S. Bowman Rd., Little Rock, AR 72211.
