Sally Oleta Bright, 85, of Hot Springs, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022. 

She was born on Jan. 16, 1937, in Mt. Tabor, to Lester Nichols and Delia Meredith Nichols. She attended and graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1954. 

Oleta married Charles Bright on Sept. 12, 1958, and they had two sons. They were married for 46 years. 

She retired in 1994 after working for 40 years for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in the office of Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation. 

Oleta was a member of Hot Springs Baptist Church where she taught the third grade Sunday School class for many years. 

She enjoyed playing piano, gardening, going to singings on Friday and Saturday nights, and was a member of the Hot Springs Cruisers Car Club where she was club secretary. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her father and mother; and her sister, Doris Brown.

She is survived by her children, Randy Bright and his wife Elizabeth; Greg Bright and his wife Linda; three grandchildren Ben Bright (Amber), John Bright (Jessica), and Beth Reed (Collin); her great-grandchildren; one niece, Cherri Taylor, of New Bern, North Carolina; many cousins and a host of friends. 

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022, with Bro. Mike Smith and Bro. Jim Oliver officiating in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs.

Pallbearers will be Ben Bright, John Bright, Collin Reed, and Darius Melton. 

Honorary Pallbearers are the Hot Springs Cruisers Car Club and the Legacy class at Hot Springs Baptist Church. 

Interment will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 1:00PM-2:00PM, Wednesday, prior to the service.
