Saletha Janette McCroskey

Saletha Janette McCroskey, known as Janette by most, age 89 of Ward, Arkansas, breathed her last breath entering the kingdom of Heaven on December 19, 2022. Janette passed away peacefully in her home of 70 years.

Janette is survived by three sons; Danny, Larry, and Dennis, all of Ward; a grandson, Thurman McCroskey (Anjie), a step-granddaughter Tiffany Tyree and her family; four great-grandchildren, Brice McCroskey (Kassidy), Jordyn McCroskey, Brandon McCroskey (Courtney), all of Searcy, and Anthony

Roberts of Colorado; a great-great granddaughter Kinsley, with another due to arrive at the end of January 2023, Raenah.

Janette is also survived by her loving brothers Tony Brown (Nancy) and Ted Brown (Cindy), sister-in-law Darlene Brown, a slough of the most loving, caring, and loudest nieces you will ever meet, and her sisters in friendship Annette Bailey and Leola Galloway.

Janette was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ida and Johnnie Brown, grandmother Hettie White, brother Johnny (Buddy) Brown, and husband of 68 years, Bill McCroskey.

Janette loved the Lord and gloried him in all she did. She was a faithful founding member of the New Horizon Baptist Church of Ward. She spent years worshipping, teaching Sunday School and VBS classes. She also spent many years writing and putting on the church Christmas programs, including set design. When Janette wasn’t working alongside her husband on their farm, raising three boys, entertaining her grandson, and later her great-grandchildren, she loved to travel and oil paint. She loved to paint the snow and mountains, many from pictures from her travels. She gifted hundreds of paintings over the years. She also enjoyed writing poems and singing in her church choir. One of her favorite hymns was Look for Me at Jesus’s Feet. That is right where she is now. What a blessing to know she heard her God speak Well done, my good and faithful servant.
