Ryman Johnson,

Ryman G. Johnson, Sr., 91, of North Little Rock, passed away September 4, 2010. He was born January 22, 1919 in Lockesburg, Sevier County, Arkansas to George and Edna Johnson.
He was proud of the fact that he had served in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the depression and had served two and a half years in Australia and New Guinea during World War II.. After the war, Ryman worked for the Post Office in downtown Little Rock, and retired after forty years of service. Upon retirement, he and his wife Nellie retired in Mountain View, Arkansas. It was a sad day when they left their many friends to move closer to family.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Lakewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and staff.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 68 years, Nellie Mae, and a son, Steve. He is survived by his son Ryman, Jr. and wife Linda; three grandchildren, Heather, Margaret, and James; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Edgewood Memorial Park. Friends may visit from 10:30 AM till service time at the cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116.
