Ruth Pye Peresta, 90, of Little Rock, widow of William Peresta, died November 28, 2007. Born March 4, 1917 in Little Rock to George P. and Hattie May Heilman Pye, she was a 1933 graduate of Little Rock High School. Ruth was a member and elder in Westminster Presbyterian Church, and retired from the Arkansas Department of Human Services. She served as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and the Stewpot Ministry.
Ruth is survived by sons, William John Peresta and wife, Nancy Wright Peresta, of Middletown, Rhode Island; and James Michael Peresta of Bryant; grandchildren, Grant and Emily Peresta; and brother, Glen Pye and wife, Ruth, of Pine Bluff.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock. A Chapel Service will be held at the funeral home Saturday, December 1 at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Donn Walters, followed by burial in Oakland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church or Good Shepherd Retirement Center.
