Ruth Howard

Ruth Elizabeth Howard, "Nanny", 86, of North Little Rock passed away Monday, October 21, 2013. She had a gift for mothering and was known as "Nanny" to the many children she helped raise. She was a member for almost 60 years of Rose City Church of the Nazarene and worked for many years at Deli-Mart.
She is survived by three children, Linda Wortham (Buel), Steve Howard (Rhonda) and Jeral Howard (Evelyn); three grandchildren, Kevin Howard, Deana Jones, and Dana Holmes; and four great-grandchildren, Courtney Guice, Presley Holmes, Riley Jones and Mia Jones; and only surviving sister, Gertrude Birch. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Campbell, Sr. and Edith Murray Campbell; two brothers, Charles and Fred Campbell, Jr.; father of her children, Dean Howard; and her grandson, Craig Howard.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to those who helped care for her in her final years; Tanya Cole, Lisa White, Mischelle McGhee and Victoria Cavalier.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Online obituary at www.SmithFamilyCares.com .
