Ruth Carol "Roosty" Hinchliffe, 67, of North Little Rock passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2013.
Roosty was born in Houston, Texas. She graduated from LaGrange High School and McNeese State University in Lake Charles.
Roosty worked for the State of Louisiana Department of Welfare for over thirty years, spending most of this time in New Orleans. She retired and moved to Little Rock in 2007. She was active in Friendly Chapel Church and loved volunteering in the thrift shop.
Anyone who knew Roosty knew that she loved her family and friends and always cared more about others than herself. She always had a smile and a laugh even when you knew she was not well. She loved life and saw the best in everyone.
She is survived by her sister, Mary A. and husband George "Red" Freeman of North Little Rock and brother, Hal Holton Hinchliffe and wife Miriam of Monroe, LA; four nephews: Holton Hinchliffe, Will Hinchliffe, David Kelley and Brad Kelley; four great-nephews: Tyler, Grant, Brice and Laine Kelley and her godchild, Amanda Medford Galati. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willanna Holton Hinchliffe and Reginald Hinchliffe
A celebration of life will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday at Friendly Chapel Church 116 S. Pine, North Little Rock. Burial will be at a later date in Thornton, TX.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Friendly Chapel Church.
