Ruth “Pat” Evelyn Lankford

Ruth “Pat” Evelyn Lankford, 87, of Russellville, AR passed away on March 16, 2023. She was born October 14, 1935. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Lankford; her parents, Bartholomew and Blanche Starrett; her brothers, James and Leon Starrett. She is survived by her sister, Doris Morgan; her five daughters, Clarissa Evans, Valerie Gaunt (Roger), Sandy Clack (Jon), Linda Freeman (Bradley Peach), Donna Conatser (Rex). She has thirteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter.

She graduated from Jacksonville High School and married her high school sweetheart, Clarence Lankford on March 21, 1954 at age 19. She loved being a part of her daughters' school lives and activities, being a PTA President for 5 years and Girl Scout leader. Her work included school secretary, banking and store owner. She loved family camping trips and vacations. She was a beautiful poet and has written a poem book for her family. Her favorite past-time was listening to Elvis and the Bee Gees. She attended Assembly of God Churches and sang and played piano at church in her younger days. Her pride and joy were her daughters and grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 18th at 1:30 PM at Smith NLR Funeral Home followed by funeral service at 2:00 PM. Private burial at Edgewood Memorial Park in NLR.
