Ruth Ends

Ruth Wilson Ends, age 86, of Delight, Arkansas formerly of Bourbonnais, Illinois passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2013. She was born October 28, 1926 in Harvey, Illinois, the daughter of Ervey and Myrtle Pruitt Wilson. She was a member of College Church of the Nazarene in Bourbonnais, Illinois. Ruth owned and operated Ends Insurance Agency for twenty-five years. After she sold the insurance agency, she continued to work as a insurance agent and broker.

Ruth engaged in civic service at a very young age and continued to serve throughout her life. While her children were attending college, she served as a board member or president for thirteen different organizations. She taught Sunday School at every church where she was a member since she was twelve.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Anton "Tony" Ends Sr. and one brother, Richard Wilson.

Survivors are two sons, Tony (Dela) Ends of Brodhead, Wiscosin, Samuel Ends of Greenwood, Missouri; two daughters, Betty Whitehill of Newburgh, Indiana, Barbara (Roger) Genung of Delight, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren, Heather, Holly, Jimmy, Joel, Micah, Emily, Nathan, Andrew, Stephanie, Angela and Chris; and eight great-grandchildren.

For the last two years, Ruth has resided at Twin Rivers Health & Rehabilitation in Arkadelphia where she was known for her smile. She participated in painting, cooking and gospel meetings programs. Her participation in Caring through Art earned her awards from county fair to state level.

Celebration of Life services will be at 10:00 am Saturday, September 21st at Schreffler Funeral Home in Bourbonnais, Illinois. Visitation will be on Friday at Schreffler Funeral Home. Interment will be in Maternity BVM Cemetery in Bourbonnais.

The family extends a special thanks to Twin Rivers Health & Rehabilitation for their loving care and devotion to Ruth. Also to the congregations of Delight and Pine Street Churches of Christ who were a great encouragement to her.
