Ruth Monita Earls

Ruth Monita Earls, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away January 18, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on July 22, 1946, in Dallas, Texas, Ruth lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to her family and community.

Ruth devoted much of her life to her career as a line worker at the Sears factory. However, her true calling was found in the warmth and happiness she brought to her family. Known fondly as "Nanny" by those who cherished her, she was an early riser who filled her mornings with her fondest things: gardening, canning, cooking, and baking. She nurtured not only her flowers and vegetables but also the hearts of her loved ones.

A passionate listener, Ruth found great joy in attending her son, Donnie’s band performances, reveling in the music. Her hobbies included sewing and creating lasting, tangible memories for her family. Ruth took immense pride in her role as a matriarch, cherishing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as her proudest accomplishments. Each moment spent with them was a treasure, woven into the fabric of her life.

Ruth's legacy lives on through her son, Donnie Alvin Earls, Jr. (Karen), along with her numerous grandchildren: Madelynn Ruth Howard (Dallas), Jonathan Craig Earls, Bethany Hope Wilson (Brendon), Conner Weston Earls, Chase Payne Earls, Ariel Bastian (Zachary), Valerie Nichole, Joshua Leon Sewell (Rachel), Izzie Leigh Wilson (Dennis), Matthew Aaron Sewell (Lacie), Jordan Michael Sewell, Megan Lindsey Sewell, and Morgan Mills. She was truly joyful watching the next generation grow, including her great-grandchildren: Athena Earls, Odin Blue Earls, Laylee Kayann Sewell, Cannon Wesley Smith, Isaiah Lee, Micha Ella Sewell, Braylon Wayne Sewell, Kaley Brook Sewell, and Caleb Jayden Sewell, her great-great-grandchildren: Gavin, Corbin, and Gary, who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts.

She is survived by her dear sister, Judy Hathaway. Ruth now joins her beloved husband, Donnie Alvin Earls Sr., and their children, Troy Glen Earls and Anita Ann Earls, along with her parents, John Thomas Capps and Ruth Elizabeth Capps, and siblings Johnny Capps, Deloris Capps, and Wilma Capps, in eternal rest.

Ruth Monita Earls will be remembered for her unwavering love, nurturing spirit, and the joyous impact she made on everyone she met. A visitation will take place on Friday, January 24, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sardis Community Bible Church. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Sardis Community Bible Church in Sardis, AR. Burial will follow at the Salem Cemetery in Little Rock, AR, at 2:30 PM.

Though her physical presence may be gone, Ruth's spirit, love, and laughter will echo in the minds and hearts of her family and friends for generations to come.
