Ruth Elizabeth Bisbee

Ruth Elizabeth Bisbee, 87, of Benton, Arkansas passed away on December 7, 2023. She was born on February 19, 1936, in Frankfort, New York to the late Eustance and Elizabeth Burdick. 

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Aubrey James Sambola; second husband, Seth Carroll Bisbee; son, Aubrey James Sambola, Jr.; and brothers, Kenneth Burdick and Richard Burdick.  Ruth is survived by her daughter, Theresa Van Horn (Steve); sister, Movice Kay Cantrell, several nieces and nephews; along with a host of family and friends. 

She was a much-loved substitute teacher for the Sheridan School District for 34 years.  She taught Sunday School at Barnett Baptist Church where she was a member for over 25 years.  In recent years she became a member of First Christian Church in Benton, Arkansas. 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Gentiva Hospice and Elite Home Health for their love and support over the past few months.

A visitation will be held from 10:00AM-11:00AM on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home (322 N Market Street) with a service following at 11:00AM.  Burial will follow at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Little Rock.
