Russell Furr

Russell Furr age 82 of Friendship, AR died Thursday, September 19, 2013. He was born November 24, 1930 the son of James Earl and Eula Fisher Furr. He was a retired brick mason, a member of the Brick Mason's Union, served in the U.S. Army, served on the Friendship City Council for many years, an avid outdoorsman and was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by one son, Gary Furr, one brother, Buddy Furr, and a sister, Bobbie Jean Crawley Roshell.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Leatrice Furr, one son, Russ (Tonya) Furr of Friendship, two daughters, Rhonda (Dewayne) Smith of Pocahontas, Karen Kight and Dale Kight both of Hot Springs, three brothers, Hoy (Ruby) Furr of Arkadelphia, Wilton (Cathy) Furr of Friendship, Wayne (Barbara) Furr of Ohio, one sister, Venette Burnett of Friendship, eight grandchildren, Brandon Smith, Brooke Rickey, Dr. Tyler Kight, Asher Kight, Hayley Furr, Riley Furr, Truston Furr, and Tanner Furr; three great grandchildren, Cohen, Avery and Halle Jo.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, September 22nd in the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel in Arkadelphia with Bishop Dewayne Smith and Brother Keith Tyler officiating. Burial will be in the Gilchrist Cemetery near Friendship. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Smith, Asher Kight, Mike Burnett, Dr. Tyler Kight, Dale Kight, Mike Catlett and Ronnie Crawley. Honorary Pallbearers, Truston and Tanner Furr.
