Russell Eugene Cox

Russell Eugene Cox, passed away unexpectedly on November 27, 2023 at Baptist Health Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.  He was 64 years old.  His family is deeply saddened by his sudden death. 

Russell is survived by his loving partner, Gina Johnson; siblings Rebecca (Patrick) Downey, Beverly (Kenny) Myers, Tracy (Charlotte) Cox,  sister-in-law Deborah Cox, and several nieces and nephews.

Russell was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Winnie Cox, brother, Terry Cox and niece, Lindsey Beth Myers.

Russell was born on September 27, 1959 at Randolph County Memorial Hospital in Pocahontas, Arkansas.  He lived in Reyno, Arkansas until his family moved to Curtis and then to Arkadelphia.

Russell loved farming.  If it wasn’t rice, then it was soybeans, milo and corn.  Then it turned to a passion for cattle.  He took pride in living and working on the family farm.  He loved working outdoors, bailing hay, working in the red barn and feeding the cattle.  Russell enjoyed hunting, fishing and digging for arrowheads.

Russell’s visitation will be held Friday, December 1, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 6:00 p.m. at Ruggles Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial be made to the Arkadelphia Humane Society, 627 Walnut Street, Arkadelphia, Arkansas 71923.
