Rufus Key
Rufus Cecil Key, age 87 of Sparkman, AR died Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at the Beverly Health Care. He was born Sept 3, 1918 in Ouachita, AR the son of the late Rufus and Tennie Gates Key. He was a millwright and roofing superintendent, a member of the Sparkman First Baptist Church and a WWII Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Abbott Key, three sisters, and three brothers.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Ann Chambliss and son-in-law, Charles Chambliss both of Arkadelphia; one grandson, Charles Kevin Chambliss and wife, Kimberly Shaver of Waco, TX.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM. Friday, June 16, 2006 in Sparkman First Baptist Church with Rev. Wade Toddy officiating. Interment will be in the Sardis Cemetery under the direction of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM. Friday till service time at the church. Memorials may be made to the Sparkman First Baptist Church or Ouachita Baptist University.
