Ruby Faye Wright

Ruby Faye Wright, age 77, of Caddo Gap, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015. She was born on October 19, 1937, in Caddo Gap, the daughter of George Frank Anderson and Bessie Faye Thomas Anderson. On July 19, 1958, she married Clifford Eugene Wright, who preceded her in death on May 22, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Glen Frank Anderson. Ruby was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church and a retired hairdresser working in the business for over 30 years. She loved her role as mother and grandmother on the South Fork of the Caddo River and enjoyed cooking, gardening, and listening to "good music" (as she called it), which was country and gospel. She had currently resided at the Montgomery County Assisted Living in Mount Ida where she had made many wonderful friends. Ruby was a kind, gentle and loving person to everyone she met and will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Darla Ann and Charles "Rusty" Standerfer of Mount Ida, Tammy Lynn and David McCarter and Tonya Lee and Gary Roberts, all of Norman; four grandchildren, David "Budger" and Teresa McCarter, Krystal Pearson, Amanda McCarter and Cody Roberts; and four great-grandchildren, Kamron McCarter, Colten McCarter, Korben Pearson and Colt Pearson. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, October 9, 2015, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro. Robbie Loudermilk officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Caddo Gap. Pallbearers will be Tim Mitchell, Gary Holmes, Lloyd "Smitty" Smith, Roger Davis, Tommy Smith and Kenny Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff and residents of the Montgomery County Assisted Living and the Montgomery County Nursing Home.
