Rubin C. Hardin, 92 of Bismarck, Ark. went to his heavenly home on March 28, 2009. He was retired from Reynolds Metal Company. Rubin had a remarkable zest for life and lived every day to its fullest to the end. He was quite the talker and jokester. Rubin was a craftsman taking great pride and joy in the making of his personalized handmade box turkey callers for which he was known nationally. He was an avid outdoorsman who especially loved turkey and deer hunting and had a love for fishing. He leaves behind a host of family and friends, young and old. Rubin was a member of the DeRoche Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Billie Jean Hardin, daughter and son-in-law, Melva and Chuck Thornton of Bismarck, daughter, Maurine Stiles of Malvern, daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Paul Stevens of Bryant, son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Beverly Hardin of Bismarck, 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
The family would like to give special thanks to the extraordinary people who cared for Rubin during his final time: Dr. Shawn Purifoy, Staff of Arbor Oaks, Hospice, his personal friends and caretakers, Lavetta Collie and Sandra Barringer.
Family visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 pm at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, with Brothers Chris Morrison and Paul Stevens officiating. Burial will be at DeRoche Missionary Baptist Church in Bismarck.
