Roy Madison "Dusty" White, Jr.

Roy Madison “Dusty” White, Jr., 69, of North Little Rock, returned to his heavenly Father on Monday, June 27, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer. He left this earth surrounded by his family, who gave his life purpose and joy.

Dusty was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina to Roy Madison and Esther Sitton White. He enjoyed spending the summers with his cousins Clara and Jo in South Carolina and was blessed with lifelong friendship, love and support from them and their families. He graduated from Thomasville High School in Thomasville, GA and went on to attend the University of Georgia. He married the love of his life, Sylvia, soon thereafter and they raised two wonderful sons. Dusty worked in sales for Power Equipment Company of Memphis for 28 years.  His boisterous laugh and sense of humor would light up a room. He was quick-witted, smart and had a huge heart for people. He loved his grandchildren and family with all his heart. He loved cooking, golfing, singing at his longtime church, First United Methodist Church in North Little Rock, and during his time in Arkansas, would come to eventually love the Razorbacks (but if they were playing, he was definitely rooting for the Dawgs of UGa.)

Dusty is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sylvia White; two sons Matthew Harris White (Danielle) of North Little Rock and Michael White (Elizabeth) of Rogers, Arkansas; siblings Esther Sitton White of North Little Rock and Harris Miller Pope, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia; and the grandchildren he adored and cherished: Helen White, Davis White, and Harris White.

Preceded in death are Dusty's parents Roy and Esther White Pope and stepfather Harris Miller Pope, Sr. who raised him like his own son, and modeled for Dusty how to be a great man, husband, father, and grandfather.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, July 9, at 11:00 am, at First United Methodist Church in North Little Rock with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the North Little Rock First United Methodist Church.
