Roy J. Smith of Benton passed away on Saturday November 6, 2010 at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton, AR. Mr. Smith was born on July 2, 1947 in Bonaqua, Tennessee to parents, James Charlie "J.C." Smith and Ivarene Huckaba Smith. Roy loved gardening, woodworking and socializing with people. He was a butcher by trade.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Linda Smith of Benton; 3 sons, James Smith, Larry Smith, Randy Smith all of Benton; 2 daughters, Stephanie Woods of Knoxville, TN and Jeannie Martin of Benton, AR.
12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous friends and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Charlie "J.C." Smith and Ivarene Huckaba Smith; 1 brother, Marvin Smith and 1 sister, Faye Smith.
The family held private services for Mr. Smith. A memorial fund will be set up in his name at Hurricane Creek Federal Credit Union. Arrangements under the direction of Peaceful Haven Funeral Home in Benton, AR.
