Roy Rogers

Roy Ben Rogers, of Cabot, Arkansas, founder of Roy Rogers Foreign Car Parts, Inc., in Little Rock in 1965, died on February 1, 2009, at UAMS Medical Center of Mantle Cell Lymphoma. He was born February 24, 1939, at El Paso, Texas, to the late "Buddy" and Louise Rogers of Des Arc. He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Janie Hudson Rogers; two sons, Bentley Rogers (Velda) of Des Arc and David "Buddy" Rogers (Heather) of Jonesboro; four grandsons, B.J. Rogers (Holly) of Cabot, Ryan Rogers and Robert Rogers of North Little Rock, and David Rogers, II of Jonesboro; his favorite granddaughter, Aubrey Savannah Rogers of Jonesboro; step-grandchildren Brittany Baxter VanHouten of Little Rock and Drew Baxter of Beebe; one brother, Don Rogers (Lela); one sister, Barbara McFarlin (Owen), both of Des Arc; several nieces, nephews and other extended family.
An avid outdoorsman, he was a member of the Raft Creek Mallard Club and an American Tree Farmer. In his later years, he especially enjoyed his morning coffee group at Knights Super Food Store. During his illness, he received many cards and prayers from members of his church, Mt. Carmel Baptist in Cabot.
The family wishes to thank his PCP, Dr. Joseph Shotts of Cabot, Dr. Mauricio Pineda-Roman and his caring staff at MIRT, UAMS, along with the nurses and technicians at the MIC, UAMS who were so kind and caring during his last two years of intensive treatments.
Memorials to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, The Gideons International or MIRT at UAMS would be pleasing to the family, or a charity of your choice.
