Roy Verlandis Norris, Sr., 65, of Benton, Arkansas passed away June 19, 2016. He was born to the late Samuel Norris, Sr. and Pauline Jackson Norris on April 28, 1951 in Bauxite, Arkansas.
Roy served in the United States Air Force. He was a jack of all trades and worked in the manufacturing business.
He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Norris, Sr.; brother, Samuel Norris, Jr.; and sister, Earnestine Harris.
Roy leaves to cherish his memories 9 children, William Burks, Chris Norris, Sr., Roy Norris, Jr. (Mariann), Sam Norris (Carla), Charles Norris, Richard Norris, Paul Norris, Andrew Pickens, Amanda Brown; 21 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; mother, Pauline Norris; 3 brothers, Ray Norris, Ronald Norris, Russell Norris; 4 sisters, Erma Richardson, Brenda Norris-Walton, Dorothy Barnes, Jeaneice Ferguson; and many other family members and friends who loved Roy and will miss him always.
Reception visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Monday, June 27, 2016, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., Benton, Arkansas. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Elect Temple Church of God in Christ, Benton, Arkansas. Burial with military honors will follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
