Roy Haywood Herndon II, age 96 of Conway went to his eternal home on April 6th. Where he is enjoying his freedom from Alzheimer's. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sylvia K. Herndon, one sister, Ona Mae Prine(Lloyd) of Alabama, 9 children, Lyric Major (Max) of Neosho, MO, Woody Herndon (Loretta) of Beebe, Gregg Herndon of Tulsa, OK, Monica Dean (Gary) of Palm Coast, FL, and Chris Larimer (Brad) of Ponca City, OK, Kathy Johnston (Roger) of Formosa, AR, Larry Loyd of Mt. Vernon, AR, Debbie Jackson (Lloyd) and Robilyn Carter of Conway, AR, and 24 grandchildren and a host of great and great, great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy H. and Elsie M. Herndon, 4 brothers, John, Sam, James and Fred Herndon, and 2 sisters, Mable Herndon and Lillian Zimmerman.
The visitation will be held at Griffin Leggett Conway Funeral Home on Thursday from 6-8pm, with Rosary starting at 8pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Joseph Catholic Church on Friday April 12th starting at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer Association/Arkansas chapter at www.alz.org or garysinisefoundation.org for military veterans.
