Roy Harrison, Sr.

Roy Harrison, Sr., 63, of Bauxite, Arkansas peacefully passed away on December 22, 2021. He was born December 12, 1958 in West Memphis, Arkansas to James and Floraine (Bolton) Harrison.

Roy was a truck driver for Nutt Trucking for seventeen years.  He was known as Bald Eagle.  In his trucking history he said he was a truck driver because it was the only way he could communicate with his wife’s family, as it seemed all they talked about was trucks or jobs associated with trucking.  Roy enjoyed more than anything time he spent with his wife, Jodye and his children.  His grandchildren were his pride and joy and he cherished time spent with them.  He liked playing the guitar and music of all kinds.  He loved to go fishing with all the family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Harrison and Floraine Harrison; and a sister, Kathy Bartosh.

He leaves behind his wife, Jodye Harrison of thirty-eight years; daughter, Pricilla Elwood (Rodney); sons: Roy Harrison, Jr. (Amber), James Harrison (Heather), and Daniel Thompson (Tammy); six grandchildren:  Brianna Thompson, Jodye K. Harrison, Ethan Thompson, Mason Ellwood, Roy Harrison III, and Jimmy Nash Harrison; great grandson, Ryker Allen; sister, Linda Justus (Randy); brother, Stan Harrison (Bonnie); and many more family members and friends who love Roy and will miss him always.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, January 6 at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, in Benton, Arkansas.
