Roy Mitchell (PeeWee) Ham, 83, of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at his home.
He was born January 25, 1940 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, to the late Floyd Daniel Ham and Ethel May White Ham.
Roy graduated from Arkadelphia High School. In December of 1960, he married the love of his live, Maggie Carolyn Freeman. Roy was a member and Deacon of Shiloh Baptist Church of Arkadelphia. He spent most of his career working in the parts department starting at Delamar Motor Company in Arkadelphia until he went to work for the Clark County Road Department from which he retired. Roy was also a farmer. He enjoyed spending his time on the farm and working in his garden. The Roy Ham family was the Clark County Farm Family of the year in 1991 and again in 2015 along with the Southwest District Farm Family in 2015. Roy was a Charter board member of the Curtis Fire Department, a board member of Clark County Farm Bureau, a member of the Tractors of the Past Club, a member of the Clark County Cattleman’s Association, Chairman of the Ross Drainage District, committee member of the Clark County Farm Service Agency, he served his country for 6 years in the National Guard and was previously a member of the Clark County Fair Association and Gurdon FFA Alumni.
He was proceeded in death by his wife of 58 years, Maggie Carolyn Ham; his brother Carol Ham; sisters Wanda Ross and Sharon Turner; and great grandson, Logan Voigt.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Debbie Manning and her husband, Timmy Manning, daughter, Cindy Ham; granddaughter Kristin Cox and her husband, Chad Cox; great grandchildren, Bryce Cupp, Brennan Cupp and Bristol Cox; and granddaughter Kristin Voight and her husband, Landon Voigt. He was also survived by his brother James Ham and wife, Joyce Ham, sister-in-law, Doris Ham and brother-in-law Mike Turner.
Roy’s visitation will be Friday, February 3, 2023 at Ruggles Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia at 12:30 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with brother Tony Bell and Jay Ham officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Tommy McMillan, Greg Adams, Mike Elledge, Dub Fendley, Marvin Smith, Pat Smith and Ronnie Young. Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Tractors of the Past Club and Clark County Farm Bureau Board members.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shiloh Cemetery Fund or the Carolyn Ham Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Cindy Ham, 2350 Central Rd, Arkadelphia, AR 71923.
