Ross Holiman, 85, of Little Rock, passed away March 21, 2012. Born in Prattsville to Tilman and Nellie Williams Holiman, he graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a B.S.E. and did postgraduate work at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy, and retired after thirty years with Southwestern Bell Yellow Pages. Most recently, he worked for Little Rock Funeral Home. Ross was chairman for many years of the Arkansas Senior Golf Association, a Gideon, and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where he was a deacon and a choir member.
Preceded in death by his parents, fours sisters and a brother, he is survived by his wife of 35 years, Barbara Holiman; son, John Gordon Holiman of Marietta, Georgia; sisters, Rose Holiman Grimes of Maumelle, Sibyl Holiman Brockett of Fairfield Bay and Tilma Holiman Hicks of Jacksonville; two grandchildren, Casie Morgan Holiman and Bradley Ryan Holiman; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24 in the Immanuel Baptist Church Sanctuary, 501 N. Shackleford, officiated by Dr. Gary Hollingsworth. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. in the Chapel at Immanuel.
