Ross E. Brewer, age 90, of Arkadelphia, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 at his home. He was born March 1, 1924 in Gum Springs to Jack and Lois Helms Brewer. Ross was a charter member of Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a U. S. navy veteran of World War II. Ross was a rancher and worked with multiple livestock auctions as a weight master.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Brewer and one son, David Brewer.
Survivors are his wife, Maggie Brewer; one daughter, Janice Cook and husband, Bill of Marion, Arkansas; three step-children, Don Garrett and wife, Judy of Arkadelphia, Doug Garrett and wife, Jackie of Pennsylvania, Sharon Vance and husband, Larry of California; two grandchildren, Dr. Jim Ed Brewer and wife, Lindy of Benton, Arkansas, Erin Haggard and husband, Clint of Columbia, South Carolina; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, March 7th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Newsom officiating. Interment will be in Richland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
