Rosie Pauline Adams slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus on October 31, 2023 at the age of 88. She was born in Dewitt, Arkansas on April 2, 1935 to parents Johnny Turner and Ella Mae (Heirds) Turner.
Although Rosie had only an 8th grade education, she acquired her real estate and brokers license and became successful in selling commercial real estate. She could stand toe-to-toe with anyone in business and always had a strong sense of self-confidence and belief in her skills and abilities.
After the tornado struck Beebe in 1999, she worked the food lines and could be found helping whenever and wherever she was needed. Her friends and family were frequently recipients of her delicious home cooked meals during their time of grief or sickness. Sometimes those meals were topped off with her famous chocolate cake.
Rosie was a mom to 4 very active and, shall we say, “energetic” sons. She truly was the quintessential “boys” mom attending baseball, football, and basketball games as well as being a den mother in cub scouts and boy scouts where she managed to keep everyone in line while teaching crafts or outdoor skills. She instilled in each of her sons a strong work ethic, the love of nature, and all animals. Growing up, the boys were allowed to have a myriad of pets, including skunks, pigs and birds. Her sons were her pride and joy.
In her later years, she could be found tending to her flower beds, taking care of whatever stray pet had adopted her, or fishing off her dock on Lake Conway, especially during crappie season.
She is preceded in death by her parents Johnny and Ella Mae Turner, Husband Bill, brothers Benny Turner and Billy Turner, sisters Jane Blasier and Virginia Brekhus, as well as sons Bill Adams, Jr. and Mike Adams, Sr., grandsons Mike Adams, Jr., Rick Adams, Robert “Bubba” Steele, and great grandson Wesley Shane Bowline, as well as daughter-in-law Debbie Adams.
Left to cherish her memory are sons Jim (Jamie) Adams, Frank (Linda) Adams, daughter-in-law Marie Adams, grandchildren Jodi (Sal) Diaz, Jimmy (Whitney) Adams, Frankie Adams, Charles Adams, Cynthia Carroll, Angelique Adams, Scott Adams, Amber (Jason) Nash, Jennifer Hebb, and Thomas Kubaiko as well as 20 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren with 1 due in April 2024. She also leaves behind sisters Hazel Robinette Hankins and Rita Turner.
The family extends their deepest gratitude and appreciation to Arkansas Hospice, in particular, to CNA’s Barbara, Amanda, and Peyton, Social Worker Trella, and RN’s Jessica, Shannon, and Anastasia. The care and dignity they provided to Rosie was exemplary and the support and encouragement to her family was invaluable. The family, especially Jim and Frank, will forever be grateful to them. Rosie’s sister, Hazel Robinette Hankins, was equally invaluable in the care of Rosie.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W Dewitt Henry Drive, Beebe.
